Hello Friend!
It's a long weekend, aka the best type of weekend, and the World Cup just started, so we're taking full advantage of it. About a week or so ago, we were at La Taverna's Trivia Night and we asked the owner if we could host a World Cup watch party for Nigeria's first game.
He loved the idea so much that he offered to put together a N6k buffet just for the occasion. Not just any buffet, but a BBQ buffet. He's bringing his grill out and we'll have a good ol' cookout for the Nigeria game.
He has some deal with Budweiser so there'll be lots of beer on hand too. Bud is the official World Cup sponsor so it's on-brand too. For the non-beer drinkers, there'll be lots of sangria. The regular menu is also open if none of this tickles your fancy.
It should be a really fun time and depending on how the game goes, we might get some freebies thrown in lol. I mean, he promised us free shots if Nigeria wins. His country, Chile, didn't make it so he's all up in the Super Eagles bandwagon.
Stout Wars: Legend vs Guinness
A couple of weeks ago, Nosa tweeted something about how Legend was the beer of choice for armed robbers effectively ruining any hopes we had of becoming brand ambassadors for Legend.
To further dig our hole, we made a video comparing Legend to the other popular stout in the market, Guinness. If we're going to fuck our money up, might as well get some #content out of it.
Drink Lagos: The Grill by Delis
On a mildly related note, we got a new guest writer on the blog this week - BBDD. He's the cofounder of BarNOMADIC, you might have spotted them at the last #EatDrinkFestival. This probably makes him very qualified to writing about drinking in Lagos.
