Fashion Tech and Sustainability News & Events in NYC | 7.16.18 - 8.13.18 | Applications of Blockchain Technology in Fashion Industry, Part 2

Dear Friend,

Join us this week, on Wednesday, July 18th for our next Balanced Fashion event, focusing on the topic of inclusion in sustainable fashion. We are collaborating with Priscilla Debar, the founder of sustainable fashion e-commerce FAUBOURG, who will moderate a panel conversation with industry insiders around the opportunity for ethical brands to disrupt the status quo and how sustainable fashion can be progressive and culturally relevant to effect durable change on a larger scale. Our amazing panelists are Celine Semaan, CEO & Founder of Slow Factory, Co-founder of The Library, Dominique Drakeford, Founder of MelaninASS, Daniella Samper, Founder/Creative Director, Ajaie Alaie and Jessica Couch, Founder of Luxor and Finch ConsultancyGet tickets here before they are sold out!

In my first article of the series on Application of Blockchain Technology in Fashion Industry, I wrote about how blockchain can be applied to the pre-consumer aspects of a fashion product lifecycle. The fact that this technologically advanced, decentralized and secure data storage system brings a lot of benefits to the supply chain tracking, creates transparency and makes it easier to authenticate products is pretty clear. But how can blockchain technology benefit the retail and consumer experience, securely track wearer's data and, even more importantly, contribute to the circularity of fashion industry? This is what I've touched upon in this 2nd article of this series. Read the full article here, along with an interview with CEO of LOOMIA, Janett Liriano, where she is speaking about their new technology,  LOOMIA TILE, a digital tag that transforms garments into data-collecting devices.
