Dear Friend,
🎙️📻 Excited to share that one of my favorite and top quality = rare podcasts, Invisibilia is coming back on June 1st with its third season. I highly encourage you checking out the past episodes of this show, if you haven't yet. Some of them were particularly impactful and life-changing for me.
In my previous newsletter I addressed a practical concept of acceptance. As soon as we accept something we may want or even need to make some changes within. But I've always been asking myself, whether it's really possible to change our behaviors and thoughts? "The Personality Myth" Invisibilia episode featured some powerful examples of how humans can truly and drastically change their personality. Walter Mischel, a psychologist specializing in social psychology proved that "traits and life situations both affect our behavior, but so do our minds. The beliefs, assumptions, expectations that you've gotten from your friends, family, culture —are the filter through which you see the world. Your mind stands between who you are, your personality and whatever situation you are in. It interprets the world around it, and how it feels about what it sees. And so when the stuff inside the mind changes, the person changes." I believe that people can learn to think differently about life situations, reframe and reconstruct them. And that's how they can reconstruct themselves..✨..at will.
