Creative, Fashion, Technology Start Ups Events in NYC | 1/17 -1/30

Dear Friend,

There are many great events coming up this end of January! I would like to highlight a couple of them.

On its last weekend there's going to be the 3rd edition of the Start Up Weekend Global Fashion Battle - a fantastic opportunity for fashion tech enthusiasts to pitch their idea and work on its development in a group of highly motivated, smart and knowledgable people and pitch it to the group of fashion tech gurus. I've participated in it in 2015 where our team came up with the preliminary idea for HaveItMade, learned and struggled (in a good way) a lot, did market research, met amazing like-minded people who I became good friends with and just had an awesome time. Here's an overly dramatic video we put together using Animoto reflecting on our experience during the Weekend. This year, I will be acting as a mentor to the teams: will help them develop their idea, validate it, build a prototype and prepare for the demo. Email me if you need any more insights/info on this event, will be happy to chat!

Also, highly recommend checking out the Fashion Is Your Business live podcast recording on Jan. 26th: The Future for IoT: A Conversation w/ Former White House Senior Advisor. If you haven't been to a podcast recording event yet, you really should go and see how fun and educational this experience is, I hope to see you there!
