Conscious Fashion&Tech Update | Nov 2019 | Panel on 20th, Landfills & Your Support

Dear Friend,

Hi, while I'm brewing the new life for Balanced Fashion events on the background, I'm invited to speak at and moderate panels on conscious fashion & tech, which I really enjoy doing. If you'd like to book me or speak about your next event, simply reply to this email. The photo above is from the speaking opp during the Fashion Tour in NYC this September, organized by Irina Chernyak, founder of La Botanica magazine

On Nov. 20th I'll be moderating a GreenHomeNYC x NYCFTC - Sustainable Fashion Panel and would love you to join! RSVP here. The speakers are magical and deep experience in conscious fashion: Deanna Ansara, Owner/Designer, Vincetta, Andrea Reyes, Chair, NYC Fair Trade Coalition & Founder, A. Bernadette, Daniela Blanco, PhD Candidate, Chemical Engineering & Co-Founder, Sunthetics and Ozgem Ornektekin, Founder, KO2 Consulting & Petit Pas.

Another thing that is very present - the reality of modern landfills. An incredible initiative "Landfills as Museums" by Slow Factory's sustainability advocate Céline Semaan. "It's about gaining information and knowledge through an empirical gathering of data, and you have to experience it," Semaan said on a recent visit to Fairless landfill in Morrisville, Pennsylvania along with a group of students from Parsons and FIT. Read Could visiting a landfill transform fashion students into more sustainable designers? article in Fashionista to dive deep into this uneasy to talk about topic.

A note from my heart to yours:

Dear reader, I want to thank you from my heart from consistently opening this newsletter and enjoying its carefully curated content. I would highly appreciate if you can help me expand my newsletter by sharing it with people who don't know about it yet. I don't ask for any donations or other kinds of support, but it would mean the world to me if you spread the messages and the work that I do for our responsible fashion community. It takes me hours and hours to put this material together every other week and that's the kind of newsletter I would have liked to receive back when I was in college and early in my career years to get updated on a bigger picture of our Industry. It's been almost 4 years I've been curating events and news in the form of a newsletter without a break and it's been the most consistent project I've been engaged in that is completely unpaid and powered solely by my passion and curiosity, very high open rates and your positive feedback. Your support in the form of spreading my work would be highly appreciated! Thank you.
